Introducing Two-Factor Authentication...Improving SunNet Security!
At Suncoast, online security is a top priority. Our eBusiness and Information Technology staffs are constantly looking for ways to improve online security and enhance your online experience. Over the years, layers of security have been added to SunNet that while invisible to you, have decreased the chances of fraud being committed on Suncoast accounts.
In the very near future, Suncoast will change the way you log onto your account, providing even greater levels of protection against fraudulent attacks such as phishing, spoofing, key logging and identity theft.
In the coming months, all online users will be required to re-enroll in SunNet. A new PIN will not be required, however you will be asked to select a unique image. You will also choose a personal, descriptive label for the image, only known by you. Each time you log in thereafter, the image will appear to verify you are actually in the Suncoast website before entering your password.
The final layer of new security is the authentication of your computer. SunNet has the ability to recognize the computer or computers from which you usually log on. If the system detects a suspicious login due to an unfamiliar computer, it will automatically present you with a series of challenging questions that you will have preselected, such as your cell phone number, the name of your first pet, your mother’s maiden name, the year you graduated from high school, etc.
Suncoast’s implementation of this new layer of online security is for your protection!!
